BEATING THE DREADED AFTERNOON SLUMP

We've all been there, it's been a long week, the clock strikes 3pm and you are desperately seeking a second wind. Most of us are sitting at a desk, which makes it even more difficult to bring ourselves back to life. Rather than pouring your 5th coffee of the day, try these easy things to recharge and have a productive rest of your day:


STRETCH AT YOUR DESK:

Check out these easy-to-do stretches by author of the book "Retox", Lauren Imparato, and get your blood flowing.


ESSENTIAL OILS:

Dab some peppermint, lemon, and/or eucalyptus oil on your wrists and take three deep breaths to stimulate your brain and boost your mood.


CLEAR OUT YOUR INBOX:

This requires little energy but will take a huge weight off of your shoulders and make you feel like you've accomplished something significant.


PREP WITH PROTEIN:

Have a protein-heavy lunch and ditch the carbs - eating something heavy at lunch leads to sleepiness later in the day.


GET SOME SUNLIGHT:

If you can get up & take a walk outside, that's awesome...if you can't, or if you live in a colder climate, invest in one of these blue lights that gives you the same benefits that your daily dose of Vitamin D does.
